Mountain View Christian Church FAQs

Q: Do you practise the Lord’s Supper (Communion)? How often?

A: Yes, each Lord’s Day.

Q: Who may receive the Lord’s Supper?

A: Any Christian, but we ask that each examine himself (Read 1 Corinthians 11:23-32)

Q: Which English Bible translation do you use?

A: You are encouraged to bring your own Bible. We use the ESV (English Standard Version) for most preaching and teaching.

Q: How should I dress?

A: We present ourselves as informal. No one is turned away because of their clothes!

Q: What is there for our children?

A: Families worship together on Sundays at 11 AM. Children attend worship with their parents. At the parents’ option, children go to a children’s church during the sermon. Children grade 5 and above normally remain with the parents to hear the sermon.

Q: What other service times are there?

A: Our Bible studies times vary from season to season. Please call 905-575-1544 or email us for more information.

Q: Is yours a “small church?”

A: Yes, for the present time. Please keep reading the following from the book, The Grasshopper Myth:

“I propose that the following is true about the New Small Church

We are not sick

We are not failing

We are not stuck

We are not incompetent

We are not limited in our vision

We do not need to be fixed

We are not less than…

We are God’s idea.

We are small. Because we are small we have blessings to offer the body of Christ, our communities, our cities, our nations and our world that no one else can offer in quite the way we can.”
